Halibut Steaks

Ingredients:

2 Halibut steaks (approximately 200g-with skin)
1 tbsp sunflower oil
10-15g ginger
2 tbsp soy sauce
½ tsp salt

Instructions:

  1. Heat a non stick pan with the sunflower oil. Thinly slice the ginger, add to pan and stir fry on a high heat for a few seconds. Lay fish down in the pan on its skin and turn heat down to a simmer. Heat for 4-5 minutes.
  2. Turn fish over and heat for a further 4-5 minutes.
  3. Add 50 ml of water and the soy sauce. Place lid on the top. Stew for 2 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle some freshly cut ginger and spring onions.
  5. Remove and serve.

You must ensure this dish is not over cooked as you will not only remove some of the nutrients but it will create heat in the body. Therefore, over cooking in this case is especially bad for those with internal heat.

Good For:
If halibut is being used the dish is good for all body types and conditions.

Bad for:
Salmon can be substituted with this dish. However salmon is harder to digest and so should be avoided by those with digestive weaknesses.

Serve with rice and vegetables or boiled potatoes.
