Sean Davenport, Taichi & Gigong master Sean started learning Martial Arts at the age of eight. He had been learning Shotokan karate until he was 16. At 17 he joined the Yi Dao Kung Fu and Lion Dance troupe. Sean has been with Yi Dao more than 7 years. During this time his Shi fu Vincent Hopkins, who was awarded “Wu Duan” means the Fifth level, a level of mastery from competing in China at an exceptionally high level, had been teaching him basic Hoop diving, Dragon dance, Lion Dance, Wu Shu, Chinese kung fu Sparring, Kung Fu, Tai Ji Quan, and Qi gong. At 18 Years old Sean took a gap year and followed his Shi Fu for the majority of the year training full time. He originally helped teach lessons at 19 years old as a coach under his Shi fu’s Authority. His main tasks were the teaching of Adult and Child beginners classes in Kung Fu, Kickboxing, Wu Shu, and Lion dance. Sean took part in the Chin Woo 2006 international competition in London to compete in the exhibition event, receiving gold. WUMA 2007 Chinese Open Hand forms, Weapon Forms he placed first in both events.
