Acupuncture is given to most patients who come for Chinese Medicine treatment at our London clinic. It involves the gentle insertion of very fine, sterilised, disposable needles into points on the body. These acupuncture points correspond to energy channels or meridians, and an acupuncturist can stimulate the body's own healing response and help to restore its natural balance. Is Acupuncture Safe? Yes. Every acupuncturist who practices at Asante Clinic London, is qualified at degree level or above with many of our practtioners holding Phd's in Chinese Medicine. Our acupucnturists have many years experience in both UK and China and all are members of either ATCM or BAcC. Sterile disposable needles are always used and our clinic adheres strictly to Codes of Practice from BAcC and ATCM. Does an Acupuncture treatment hurt? Very little. Your acupuncturist will be using needles which are very fine and flexible. The needles are usually inserted only to a few millimetres. If this is a worry, your acupuncturist can use even finer needles or needle-free techniques. How long does an acupuncture treatment last? Most acupuncture treatments last 20-30 minutes. The experience is usually very relaxing and you may feel a heavy sensation in your limbs. Who can benefit from acupuncture? Acupuncture is especially effective for all musculo-skeletal conditions, sports injuries, chronic pain symptoms, arthritis, back pain and rheumatism. It is also used very effectively alongside Chinese herbs for many other conditions. How can I book a session? If you would like to book an acupuncture treatment at one of our Asante clinics you can call us on: 0207272 6888 Alternatively you can email Asante at info@asante-academy.com
