Clinical Placement

The majority of the 5 days clinical placement is undertaken in the Asante clinic. However 1 or possibly 2 days can be arranged within our NHS hospital clinics at the Whittington Hospital.  Extra clinical placement can also be arranged at a cost of £100 per day.

Qualification

On successful completion of the course and examination, and provided you have received training in Anatomy and Physiology, either before or during the course, then you will be awarded a Healthcare Diploma in Acupuncture.

Insurance

To begin practicing acupuncturist once you have completed the course you will need to apply for insurance.  In the UK, graduates of this course are eligible to apply for Category II Acupuncturist membership of the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ATCM).  Provided you pass the exam set by ATCM you will then be able to arrange Practitioner Indemnity Insurance through them.

Eligibility

The course is open to all healthcare professionals who have qualifications and knowledge of anatomy and physiology. No prior knowledge of acupuncture or Chinese medicine is required. Places are available to complete beginners who have no anatomy and physiology training but who are prepared to gain a qualification for this during the course.  Anatomy and Physiology training is not provided by Asante and so such students will need to take a course elsewhere and provide evidence of any qualification to Asante before any Diploma in Healthcare Acupuncture is awarded.
