If you have ever thought you might like to find out more about Acupuncture - maybe you've received treatments or you are interested in acupuncture and would like to know more, or you are a practitioner in another discipline but would like to develop some extra skills , - then this might just be the acupuncture course for you. Over twelve weekend training days you will learn all the basic Chinese Medicine theory, all the commonly used acupuncture points and techniques as well as diagnostic and consultation skills.

Teaching takes place at the Asante Academy, mostly on Sundays between 10.00am and 5.00pm.

The course is open to everyone and no prior experience is necessary.

Course Outline

Day 1 : Basic Concepts of Chinese medicine including Yin and Yang , the vital substances and internal organs, qi and blood, Five Elements

Day 2 : General introduction of points and meridian theory. Commonly used Acupoints

Day 3 : Tongue Diagnosis

Day 4 : Pulse Diagnosis

Day 5 : Etiology and Pathogenesis of TCM

Day 6 : Etiology and Pathogenesis of TCM

Day 7 : Consultation Skills

Day 8 : Acupuncture Techniques

Day 9 : Acupuncture Techniques

Day 10 : Moxibustion and Cupping

Day 11 : Review and Revision

Day 12: Exam

Upon completion, students have the option of taking an exam and gaining course credits towards further training.
