Blood Pressure -Chinese Medicine explanation and treatment
High blood pressure is diagnosed as internal wind in Chinese medicine. The liver yin and blood will be treated, using herbs to calm the wind such as chrysanthemum flowers, peony root and astragalus.

However, some people with blood pressure problems suffer complications which will require different treatment. In Chinese Medicine low blood pressure is a deficiency of the qi, the blood and the heart. Ginseng, Chinese angelica and tonic qi herbs are prescribed.

Both high and low blood pressure can be treated successfully by Chinese Medicine. The herbs used are very helpful in controlling the blood pressure, so that Western medicine can be slowly reduced, under careful monitoring by a doctor. At the same time, the Chinese Herbal medicine should improve the general well-being, reducing the feelings of anger and irritability which the condition often causes.
