Chilblains - Chinese Medicine explanation and treatment
Chillblains are caused by bad circulation, and are usually more of a female problem than male. In Chinese Medicine chilblains are characterized by a yang qi deficiency. Cinnamon twigs, red sage and dried ginger can all be used to treat them. The best way to prevent chilblains is to wear warm clothing and take regular exercise to improve the blood circulation to the skin. Smokers should try to give up tobacco, as nicotine reduces the circulation.
