Ligament Sprain - Chinese Medicine explanation and treatment

For ligament sprains Chinese Medicine cupping and acupuncture, massage and herbal plasters are helpful, and the injury would be regarded as a problem of internal blood and qi stagnation. Chinese Herbal medicine would be prescribed to help move the blood and the qi using safflower, millettia stem and Chinese notoginseng root. The upper limbs would be treated differently from the lower limbs and the herbs chosen in order to act on the organ which is considered to be the cause of the problem.
