Seasickness - Chinese Medicine explanation and treatment

According to Chinese Medicine, seasickness can be treated with peppermint oil on the temples and the roof of the mouth below the nasal passages. Cchewing a piece of fresh ginger. will also help. The wrist-bands which can be bought at any chemist's can be very useful in making boat journeys a pleasant experience for bad sailors. They exert gentle, constant pressure on the acupoint, another small advance for which the West can thank traditional Chinese medicine. Pressure on the acupoint 5cm/2 inches down from the wrist (palm upwards) may come in useful as a do-it-yourself treatment if seasickness comes on unexpectedly.
