[Source] Huang Qin - the root of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi, family Labiatae.

[Function] Huang Qin clears heat and removes dampness, purges the excessive fire and removes toxins. Huang Qin also cools the blood and stops bleeding.

[Application] Huang Qin is used for inflammation in the respiratory, digestive and urinary systems. Huang Qin can release cough due to lung-heat and treat diarrhoea which is due to heat and dampness. It is also used to help prevent miscarriages.
