[Source] Sheng Di Huang - the root of Rehmannia glutinosa Libosch, family Scrophulariaceae.

[Function] Sheng Di Huang clears heat and cools the blood, nourishes yin and promotes the production of the body fluids.

[Application] Sheng Di Huang is used for the syndrome of consumption of the body fluids due to yin-deficiency. which is manifested as dry mouth, constipation and diabetes. Sheng Di Huang is also used for bleeding due to blood-heat manifested as coughing of blood, nose bleeds and blood in the stools and urine etc.
