Acupuncture
Acupuncture is the most well-known and recognisable treatment available
through TCM. It involves the insertion of fine needles into specific locations
on the body called 'Acupuncture Points'. A network of energy pathways known
as meridians covers the body. Each meridian communicates to a different
organ in the body. The acupuncture points lie on these pathways and are
selected according to the illness experienced by the patient. When the
practitioner diagnoses the patient, he identifies the organs involved
and selects acupuncture points on their corresponding meridians.
